It is one of those things. Everyone’s had it when they were in 4th grade. “Yeah! It used to be 50 p then! It used to come in 3 flavours! Grape, mango and strawberry!” everyone exclaimed! We all got really excited when we saw the one rupee ice lollies in Halebeedu. The ones that we could suck on endlessly- since we never got bored, they were cheap and sweet and brought back old memories! No one would wait till it melted, instead would bite the plastic end of the package to crush the already crushed ice and let the synthetic juice enter the mouth. These old things always bring out more old things like the toffee cigarettes we used to buy after school and feel cool about or lipstick candy that we used to pretend to use. Not to forget the tit bits, gold coin chocolates, rola-cola and caramilk. Its soo tough to find them these days. it was always these 2-3 rupee things that made happy days then.
